Getting Back Into a Groove…Sorta

I took a month off working out. A MONTH! Sorry, all my yogi friends, yoga does not cut it for me as far as working out. I found one teacher that I enjoyed and because of him I will likely give yoga a try again in the future, but it’s not my cup of tea.

Today was my first day back at the box. I went with the intent of working out but I really didn’t have anything in me to give 100% so I mostly just dabbled and did a bunch of little things here and there. I rowed for a couple minutes, then stretched (I did yoga stretches, who’s a proud yogi momma?), then I jumped on a 20 inch box for a while, worked on my handstand, and then did double unders. I might have had the gumption to do the entire WOD but Chris, Brent, Kate, and everyone else was finishing their WOD and were headed home, so instead I chatted with the girls, and told Chris if come back another day. Which I will. Very very soon.

I don’t know why I lost so much motivation this past month. But I try to push myself a little here and there and I’m just hoping that these little pushes might get me back where I once was.

I did start a monthly workout challenge. It’s not a huge challenge (yet), as I’m at the beginning of the month and I’m only doing five reps of everything. But by the end of the month I’ll be doing 50 (burpees included), so I’m going to try to stick to it. It goes along with my Fitness through Operant Conditioning philosophy and I think I’ll get a lot of my motivation back with it. Join me if you’d like.

I also walked to the grocery store to grab a few items we really needed. I could have drove. It wouldn’t have been a big deal, but I felt like walking so that’s what I did. I can’t believe washington potatoes only cost $1.50 a bag! And I grabbed my favorite granola. Two bags. Om nom!

I’m going to try to hit a body sculpt class tomorrow morning. Try is the key word.

So I’ll sign off and wish everyone a happy March ( a couple days late). And I’m hoping I get my groove back soon.
