100 Ways of Fitness Day 65

Positivity Produces Positivity

Things are looking up. I have some anxiety about some aspects, but for now I’m going to focus on the positive and share my highlights that made me feel fantastic today!

First and foremost, I decided I needed to go for a swim today. I actually haven’t gone swimming since January when I set my mile swim time of 37:08. I thought that would be tough to beat. But guess what? I DID!!! By over TWO MINUTES!!! My new time is 34:50. Now THAT’S going to be hard to beat. I beat my goal of getting down to a 35 minute mile. My new long term swim goal is now 30 minute mile. Shaving off 5 minutes isn’t going to be easy, but nothing worth while is ever a walk in the park. But I know I can do it!

Second I had a long and encouraging discussion with my fitness mentor and good friend Karen Petersen, who shared some great insight and perspective on getting what we want in life and taking life by the horns! I’m happy and excited for you, sista, and you inspire and motivate me in ways I can’t even describe! You are a BEAST and I love the shit out of you, more and more everyday!

I also went grocery shopping, on a budget. I wanted to see if I could get all our food for the entire week under $150 and still eat incredibly clean. And I did! I got most of my veggies from the sale shelf, and got a bunch of greek yogurt at half off. I also found fresh herbs for super cheap, so I’m looking forward to “experimenting” with those. Already started by cooking up a delicious smelling casserole. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s breakfast

Next few weeks will be new and exciting. Of course nervous, but I’m seeing the positive and I’m going to make the best of it.
