Today is my Sunday and I still was able to wake myself up at 5:30 and make it to the gym by 7:30. Why would I do this on my weekend? I had a buddy waiting for me. Someone was counting on me to be at the gym by 7:30 so we could workout together.
Working out with a buddy helps motivate me like NOTHING else! A class will be there tomorrow. There’ll be biking weather later in the summer. I can do Bodyweight exercises anytime. Swimming takes too long. But when someone I know is expecting me, it motivates me like nothing else. I don’t want to let them down. I feel they are thinking the same as me, and they’re going to show up motivated as well.
It’s somewhat disappointing and ironic that I found a gym buddy right before I decide to quit the gym. But at least for the next two or three weeks, I can have someone to help me find great exercises to increase strength, definition, and mobility.
We did all the weight machines together- lay pull downs, abductors, pec flies, deltoid flies, assisted dips and pull-ups, biceps curls, back extension, leg extensions, and any more that I’m not remembering right now.
The time flew by and before I knew it, we had spent over an hour working muscles I haven’t worked in months. I’m going to be so sore tomorrow, but I’ve never been happier!
