30 Days of ZooFit: Day 19- Stay Positive

I’m having a little issue taking my own advice today. Stay positive. The difficulties getting into the published world of writing is becoming more and more clear. I know I have what it takes to stay the course, but I’m wondering if it’s worth it. Continue reading 30 Days of ZooFit: Day 19- Stay Positive

30 Days of ZooFit: Day 11- Healthy Hygiene Habits

I’m definitely no beauty queen, but I recognize that taking care of myself doesn’t only apply to my diet and exercise program. Daily hygiene is definitely a part of ZooFit, as they are habits we can take to the next level while still promoting a healthy environment.

Some of these habits include brushing and flossing our teeth, taking care of our skin and face, washing, and even our hair. Continue reading 30 Days of ZooFit: Day 11- Healthy Hygiene Habits

(Wow, the year was so overwhelming for me I wanted to skip right over it and go into the best and worst of 2018).

I’ve heard from quite a few people I know well and people I don’t know at all about how bad 2017 was. I’m not going to lie. It wasn’t the best for me either. But there were some truly enjoyable moments mixed with the scary shit. I guess it’s always all about balance.

The best thing about a new year is getting to write lists. Me and lists go way back. So, here’s my lists of the best and worst for me in 2017. I want to reiterate that what I write is personal for me. I don’t wish to discount anyone’s experiences this year. For example, while I know quite a few people who were affected by hurricanes Irma and Harvey, they didn’t make my list because I experienced other things a bit more personal for me. But I don’t want to discount that hurricanes are getting more powerful, more frequent, and more devastating.  What is on this list are my personal feelings about the reaction and action we are taking to combat things like stronger and crazier hurricanes. Enough, let’s get down to it. Continue reading

Kim: Twenty Years Later

I haven’t had a Kim dream that I could remember in a long time. I used to have them daily, or at least on a regular basis. I cherished those encounters, because they were the only time I could converse with my sister.

I often wonder if I make my sister proud. I strive to live my ambitious dreams to honor her, specifically. Because she isn’t here to live it herself. Continue reading Kim: Twenty Years Later

I’d Give My Right Kidney For Some Good Health Insurance

As it is with life, I got behind on keeping up with my blog. Life happens, but sometimes life throws a couple whammies at you. Sometimes life demonstrates why we need to take care of ourselves. Continue reading I’d Give My Right Kidney For Some Good Health Insurance

Trying New Things- ZooFit Edition

Back in my Element

This weekend has been a great reminder of how powerful finding one’s sacred space for fitness can be. I participated in two activities over the weekend that got me back in my element. And I can’t wait to return, again and again and again. Continue reading Back in my Element

Event Training with ZooFit

I am a part of an amazing team competing in the Whidbey Island Triathlon this Saturday.  In my continuous effort to practice ZooFit in all my affairs, I figured training for this event utilizing the principles of operant conditioning, enrichment, and even conservation would be a great experiment. While we are definitely a competitive team, I feel confident that event training with ZooFit will prove beneficial and effective. Continue reading Event Training with ZooFit
